About Baker Ripley Utility Assistance Program

Utility Assistance program that helps families and individuals in Harris County with the payment of their electricity and gas bills.

Please note that this site does not take walk in appointments or provide applications.

Requirements:

  Resident of Harris County
  Must meet the US Department of Health and Human Services Income Guidelines
  Proof of identity Current/Valid Texas Drivers License, Texas ID, US Passport, US Military ID or US Permanent Resident Card
  Provide proof of income for the last 30 days for all household members eighteen (18) years of age and older such as employer gross wages, Social Security, Unemployment, Food Stamp Award Letter, Retirement, VA Disability, etc.
  Provide a current Electric Bill Reliant customers must provide their meter number
  Provide a current Gas Bill (If applicable)
  Electric and/or Gas Disconnection Notices (If applicable)

    I'm, 42yrs and receive SSI and SSI. My mom will be longer be with us anyday now. I have three daughters and a grandson 5months. My mom went in cardiac arrest in her sleep. Then multiple heart attacks. She not able to function. She helped with Bill's. Due to covid I lost my part time job. Plus my is not good right. I'm in your system. Please help us.

    Im seeing reviews stating Baker Ripley didnt help with water. Thats because they ONLY help with utilities such as gas, electric and sometimes rent. If rent help is needed I suggest your local church. I, myself, is low income with a disabled son so I dont get much a month. My application is still in process so i cant say how long it will take but I will keep everyone in these reviews in my prayers and pray yall all keep your faith strong. Tomorrow will always be a different day. For those that attend church every Sunday I do know you have about a 95% chance that they'll help you with 100% of all your bills for 1 month. That should help catch you up a little bit. For those that dont churches will help with a portion and so does The Red Cross is you can catch them in time when they have the funds but Baker Ripley does NOT pay water bills.
