About Community Action Partnership of Madera County - LIHEAP

Community Action Partnership of Madera County participates in the Low Income Energy Assistance Program, commonly known as LiHEAP, which helps the most vulnerable households with their electrical bills. Individuals must apply for the program and provide all the supporting documentation.

Eligibility:

The type of bill individuals have (48-Hour notice, shut-off notice, or regular bill)
Total income received by all individuals living in household at the time of the application
Number of individuals in household at the time of the application
Last time individuals applied for assistance
The type of assistance (48-Hour/shut-off/current bill) individuals have applied for in the past
Any other requirements mandated by funding sources at the time of the application

Documents required:

Photocopy of the 48-Hour notice, or shut-off tag, regular PG&E bill.
Photocopy of social security card
Photocopies of proof of income for all individuals in household received in the past six weeks (check stubs, unemployment check stubs, award letters for SSI/SSP/SSA/SSDI, general relief letters, pensions, child support, and/or an Issuance History/Passport to Services if anyone in the household receives TANF)
If there is no proof of income as listed above then a written statement of earnings completed for everyone over the age of 18 years of age will be required

Individuals may download an application online or pick it up in person. Completed applications may be returned by mail or in person. Individuals are strongly encouraged to request an appointment.
