The Federal Government-funded Low Income Home-Aid Program helps households that need help with energy costs at home.
Landlords and tenants, at 200% of the federal poverty guidelines qualify.
Although the program does not cover all heating costs, it is an important financial supplement.
During the summer months, help is provided with cooling the houses, provided funds are available.
Applications for heating aid are considered from 1 October to 31 March of each year.
