About Public Service Commission - Home Energy Assistance

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps income qualified families meet their immediate home energy necessities. Individuals need to apply to this program in the county where they reside. You may apply up to three times a year but not every month and assistance will vary depending on the available funds in your county. When approved, your local LIHEAP provider will make the payments directly to the utility company on your behalf.


Eligibility: 

  • Be a Florida resident
  • Be a U.S. Citizen, qualified alien or permanent resident of the U.S.
