About Mid-Florida Community Services (LIHEAP) - East Pasco

The goal of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) program is to prevent interruption of electric and gas service for low-income households, particularly those living with children under 5 years of age, seniors and disabled individuals.

Who is Eligible:

Eligible applicants must have a total household income less than 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and provide a copy of their energy bill. Eligible households may receive one Regular Home Energy benefit in a 12-month period. In addition, eligible households may also receive one Crisis benefit during the heating season and one benefit in the cooling season. An official past due, shut-off or delinquency notice is required for a Crisis benefit.

Services Available:

Eligible applicants may receive assistance for electric or gas utility bills or electric deposits.

Funding:

This program is supported with funding from the federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) grant, which is distributed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and administered by the State of Florida's Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO).

Valid identification;

Social Security Cards (for all household members);

Proof of Income;

SNAP (food stamp) Award Letter; and,

Lease (if applicable).

I was furloughed due to covid 19 and im facing a utility shut off.i put in a application haven't heard anything. How do i check the status? also have a elderly person in my care.
