Southern Iowa Economic Development Association (SIEDA)

The Energy Assistance program (LIHEAP) is available to assist with the partial payment of heating costs for qualified applicants. Applications may be made at any of the Neighborhood Resource Centers between November 1st and April 20th of each year. Applicants need to bring written proof of their income for the last 13 weeks and a copy of their gas, electric and telephone bills.

The Weatherization component works to tighten and insulate homes against the elements and to assure the safety of appliances by providing health and safety checks, furnace repair/replacement, refrigerator replacement, home insulation, minor repairs and client education. Eligibility for Weatherization requires the family must first be approved for LIHEAP.
