I did a application for energy assistance for my light bill, I was told that I had to wait 15 days, its been over 15 days and I haven't heard anything about it.

I have tried to apply for 8 days now, starting at 4am until 5pm, with the same message, "no longer taking applications". Power has been off for 8 days, left several voice mails for a call back..no results! Went to office to inquire about a paper application and documents..was told they will mail it, I'm not to come to office, and will receive in about 10-14 days.

As of 2/5/2024 they were out of funds, you can try in a few months... good luck.

I applied for LEAHP energy assistance for my power bill and have never heard anything back. Tomorrow is 1 month. I totally understand that they must be overwhelmed, as so many are struggling, but I just wish if we were denied or if if there were no funds that they would of responded in an email so I wasn't waiting. Its a miracle that my power hasn't been shut off yet, but Duke energy has been wonderful in working with me, I told them I was waiting to hear back on my LEAHP application. The LEAHP program helped me once last year and it was pretty prompt, so I think they are just overwhelmed. I will try some other avenues I guess. My heart goes out to all of you. I wish I could help you all.
