About South Dakota Office of Energy Assistance

To assist low-income South Dakotans pay for a portion of home heating costs, the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) distributes funds directly to providers of natural gas, electricity, propane and fuel oil. The Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP) is available to eligible households in an emergency situation such as a shut-off notice from an energy provider.

Weatherization Assistance is also provided to reduce household energy costs. For more information, visit www.dss.sd.gov/weatherization. Counties served: Hughes County

    I filed an application in September was that too early to apply for assistance if so do I need to fill out another application? How long does it take to hear back if I qualify?
