About North Georgia Community Action(NGCA) - Gilmer County LIHEAP

To apply, bring your most recent heating bill, most recent electric bill, proof of household income, proof of a valid Social Security number, drivers license or valid photo I.D. and/or documentation proving alien status to your county NGAC, Inc. Community Service Center. Assistance is provided one time per year and is based on the applicants annual household income before taxes. However, tax refunds are not considered income and therefore play no role when applying for LIHEAP.

LIHEAP checks are issued directly to the energy provider and are not given to the applicant. Also, no check can be issued until NGCA, Inc. receives LIHEAP funding from the State. Assistance is provided on a "first come, first served" basis, as long as the funding lasts.

I live at Ellijay Georgia I'm 48 years old and I'm trying to sign up for energy assistance but I can but I have to wait till December 1st but i cant pay my past due bill right now & i just moved in & they told me that getting your power cut off gets you evicted, please help me if you can, thank you
